Autism Spectrum Disorder
Asperger Syndrome (AS), or Asperger, was the name of a neurodevelopmental disorder that later merged with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Many people with an AS diagnosis choose to continue using the term, while others prefer to be identified as autistic or on the autism spectrum.
The autism spectrum is a disorder that cannot be cured and the characteristics of those who suffer from it make them special:
- Difficulty with social interaction
- Conversations that are almost always about themselves and not about others
- "coded", "robotic" or repetitive language
- The basic lack of logic
- Reading and writing problems
- Obsessions with complex subjects
- Strange speech patterns
- strange movements
- Strange behaviors and gestures
